About Me and My Experience

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA BBS #118103; CO DPO #0002074), having received my Master’s of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling with Honors, as well as a BA in Psychology from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

I have worked in a plethora of settings during my career as a therapist. In addition to my private practice, I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and individuals, in school based, clinic, and hospital settings. My practice thus far has significant experience working with pre-adolescent and adolescent males.

During my graduate work I held two internships at Spokane Falls Community College and Spokane Community College working with a wide array of students with such issues as: anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorders, and personality concerns. I was also a safe space and ally for communities such as: LGBTQ+, deaf, immigration consideration, and disenfranchised cultural considerations.

I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2015 in California. I started my career with children and adolescents at San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and did pro bono work with Luma Behavioral Consultants. I have held multiple therapy positions at San Mateo County such as regional clinics, in-home-services, field based therapy, psychiatric emergency services, managed an adult regional clinic, and now supervise the Older Adult System of Integrated Services. I have coordinated and managed at risk youth, adults, and older adults while providing treatment planning, assessments, presenting in front of multiple disciplinary teams and cross examination for legal and court therapy reporting. Currently I supervise for San Mateo County with the Older Adult System of Integrated Services team and work with severely mentally ill older adults who qualify for Medi-Cal services.

I am also a former Division 1 athlete, competed in rowing at Gonzaga University and placing within the top 20 in the country in 2012. My athletic background has also made me become a licensed Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council of Exercise (# F118747). I enjoy being physically active and have a love for the outdoors and spend my free time hiking, surfing, running, and rowing. I am a believer in aligning the body with your mind, and often make it a point for my clients to seek self care through physical activity, outdoor recreation, breathe work, and other methods of mindfully moving your body to improve mental and physical health.
